Structural Analysis Engineers with experience in stress analysis methods, engineering principles, and certification for airplane production and post-production modifications. Responsibilities include performing detailed structural analysis, creating trade studies, integrating component-level models, and documenting compliance with regulatory requirements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Performing detailed structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools. This analysis can support production, responses to customer inquiries, service bulletin development, failure investigation, regulatory agency coordination and show compliance to regulatory requirements
  2. Providing guidance on structural design and configuration development
  3. Create trade studies to optimize the structure and meet program requirements
  4. Work with the team to integrate component-level structural models and perform integrated analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses to verify structural integrity with minimal instruction
  5. Document structural analyses and data required to show compliance with Boeing, customer, and regulatory requirements

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
  • 3+ years of experience with Stress Analysis/Structural Analysis
  • 3+ years of experience with classical hand analysis and FEA software experience
  • 1+ years of experience with Fatigue and Damage Tolerance Analysis
  • Willing & able to travel up to 10% of the time domestically and internationally

Nice to have

  • 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience
  • 10+ years of higher education and/or related work experience
  • Experience with Boeing tools, processes, and procedures
  • 2+ years leading and mentoring structural analyst team members while engaging with cross-functional stakeholders
  • 2+ years engaged in 787 primary structural analysis
