What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute to major design activities and coordinate technical efforts
  2. Create designs for future rocket motor assembly components and their integration with other subsystems
  3. Develop engineering documentation products (drawings, specifications, design and analysis reports, test plans, test reports, etc.)
  4. Oversee and plan testing for development and qualification of flight hardware products
  5. Provide production and assembly support for heritage and new components related to the NASA Space Launch System (SLS)

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 10 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 8 years of professional experience
  • Broad understanding of large assemblies and their impact in design and processing
  • Strong skills in CAD including GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis and drawing preparation skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong skills in problem-solving
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented but able to understand the big picture

Nice to have

  • Demonstrate leadership in small and big teams
