Student Extern (dvm)

This is a student externship program for Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students to gain hands-on experience in a veterinary hospital setting, covering a wide range of medical, surgical, diagnostic, and dental skills under the supervision of experienced veterinarians. The role focuses on learning and assisting with patient care, hospital procedures, and client communication within a regulated environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work closely with mentor for guidance and development of hands-on veterinary experience and knowledge.
  2. Learn all aspects of hospital environment by observing and participating in procedures with your mentor:
  3. Ensure safety of pets, clients and team members by adhering to all medical standard operating protocols.
  4. Perform only care that is outlined in a State Practice Act and only under direct supervision of a DVM &/or Licensed Veterinary Technician
  5. All responsibilities and duties will be dependent on education level and experience.
