This role is for a Warehouse Superintendent at Ford, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a Parts Distribution Center. Key responsibilities include managing inbound/outbound logistics, inventory accuracy, building maintenance, safety, and labor relations with the UAW. The role requires strong leadership, organizational skills, and experience in a plant or warehouse environment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Superintendent is expected to work closely with Plant Manager to ensure the following.
  2. Responsible for managing all operations:
  3. Supervision/training of GSR 6/7 Staff and Supervisors, Overall Building Organization and Cleanliness, Grievance Resolution, Willingness to Work ALL shifts as required.
  4. Work in close alignment with the Regional Manager and Plant Manager to drive the consistent and timely execution of warehouse tasks and performance metrics.
  5. Champion and lead quality continuous improvement initiatives toward best-in-class performance.

Skills

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of experience within a plant or warehouse environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to ensure accountability from all employees
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have demonstrated ability to lead and motivate employees (Hourly & Salaried)
  • Working knowledge of Windows programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access etc.)
  • Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn current systems (SAP/EWM)
  • Ability to interpret data, evaluate actions, and reach logical conclusions independently
  • Goal oriented and continuous Improvement mindset with a focus on quality and reduced costs

Nice to have

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum 1 year leadership experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years operational/distribution experience preferred
  • Minimum 3 years working with the UAW/Teamster workforce and contract
