What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and develop a high-performing CAE team responsible for BESS modeling and simulation.
  2. Establish modeling standards, technical governance, and best practices for CAE execution across the organization.
  3. Provide CAE-driven recommendations for system architecture, thermal design, and performance optimization to support technical reviews and program delivery.
  4. Own battery life prediction modeling, including capacity fade, resistance growth, calendar aging, and cycle aging.
  5. Lead pack- and container-level thermal and electro-thermal simulations for utility-scale applications.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in battery modeling, CAE, or simulation engineering.
  • Expertise in electrochemical, thermal, or multiphysics battery modeling.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical projects or engineering teams.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external partners.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • Advanced experience with high-fidelity battery models (P2D, P4D).
  • Direct experience with utility-scale BESS or high-voltage automotive battery platforms.
  • Experience in degradation modeling, thermal runaway analysis, or container-level simulation.
  • Familiarity with digital twin development and model correlation frameworks.
