Supervisor - Quality Cost Optimization

Ford Ford · Auto · Dearborn, MI +1 · PD Operations and Quality

This role supervises a team focused on reducing warranty costs for Ford Motor Company by lowering the cost per repair and implementing design solutions for engine and thermal system issues. It involves leading data analysis, problem-solving processes, and cross-functional collaboration to identify root causes and implement corrective actions, with a focus on quality and waste elimination in customer service events.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead data and returned part analysis discussions to define and prioritize CPR and HTIS projects for the engineering team.
  2. Lead an engine teardown and testing facility by: setting engine selection strategy, ensuring maximum teardown throughput, collaborating with stakeholders to communicate findings, using data to select new projects, and determine DRI for projects.
  3. Coach team members on techniques to rapidly execute lower CPR projects in conjunction with cross functional partners (FCSD, Calibration / Controls, Powerpack, Thermal Systems, etc.).
  4. Coach team members on techniques to rapidly work through problem solving process phases to quickly deliver solutions (8D, DFSS, DCOV, etc.).
  5. Lead CPR & High Time in Service Team to execute projects using 8D processes on aggressive timelines, using modern project management techniques.
