Supervisor, Studio Operations

This role supervises studio operations, managing daily productions, personnel, and equipment. Responsibilities include team coaching, performance reviews, hiring, training, conflict resolution, and ensuring adherence to SOPs and company policies. The supervisor also collaborates with production partners to meet content requirements, troubleshoots technical and operational issues, and may oversee the implementation of new equipment and workflows. The role requires a strong understanding of production control room workflows and equipment, with the ability to work under tight deadlines.

What you'd actually do

  1. Supervise daily assigned productions and personnel while operating in a particular job discipline.
  2. Set priorities for and coach team members to ensure readiness and operational needs are met.
  3. Impacts the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of your own team and its contributions to the larger organization.
  4. Use suitable judgment to identify and resolve day-to-day technical and operational problems.
  5. Evaluate the performance of all assigned employees, conduct quarterly performance assessments, and administer annual reviews for assigned staff members.

Skills

Required

  • Minimum of 10 years of production operations or related experience
  • In-depth understanding/background in Studio Operations job roles in Studio or Media/Editing functions
  • Knowledge of the workflows and equipment associated with production control rooms, including audio consoles, video switchers, routers, signal converters and tie lines
  • Ability to perform tasks under tight deadlines
  • Good computer background (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Flexibility to alter shifts/days off to accommodate projects and departmental objectives

Nice to have

  • Proficient in business protocol and procurement techniques
  • Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
