Supplier Performance Specialist - (san Diego County, Ca Area)

This role focuses on supply chain management and supplier performance within the aerospace and defense industry. The specialist will identify and address constraints to improve on-time delivery from suppliers, develop a deep understanding of products and supplier operations, and drive projects to completion. Key responsibilities include data collection, material tracking, quality notification management, and sub-tier management assistance. The role involves significant interaction with various departments and management levels, and requires extensive on-site presence at manufacturing suppliers.

What you'd actually do

  1. Identify constraints to flow that will be used to develop improvement and mitigation plans for improved on time delivery from suppliers.
  2. Acquire a vision of the big picture and understand that enhancing operational effectiveness is key to organizational business performance.
  3. Develop a strong understanding of the products and the operational processes they go through at the suppliers you are assigned.
  4. Ability to generate and gain opportunities to break functional, operational and logistical barriers faced with getting products out the door.
  5. Effectively driving tasks/projects to completion which include but are not limited to: Leading Indicator data collection and gap review, material coverage and tracking, facilitating quality notification communication and closures and sub-tier management assistance.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or related degree and 5 years of experience in supply chain, business or relevant experience; OR an advanced degree and three years of relevant experience; OR in lieu of a degree 9 years of experience in supply chain, business or other relevant experience can be considered.
  • U.S. citizenship is required
  • Must be able to travel up to 80% of your time to the San Diego County, CA area
  • Must be able to work 20% of the time from home office in San Diego County, CA area
