What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure incoming direct materials, including substrates and assembly materials, meet defined technical specifications and quality requirements.
  2. Act as the primary technical point of contact for incoming material-related issues.
  3. Lead direct materials quality excursion.
  4. Support supplier qualification, validation, and engineering changes to support supplier capex activities, quality/yield continously improvements as well as cost savings / optimization activities.
  5. Prepare for and participate in supplier audits, customer audits, internal audits, and ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 audits.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in semiconductor or manufacturing environments
  • Strong understanding of material properties, including thermal and mechanical behavior
  • Familiarity with failure analysis and package reliability concepts
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing processes and material interactions with equipment
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001
  • Familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D
  • Strong analytical skills with a structured problem-solving approach
  • Experience in statistical analysis and design of experiments (DOE)
  • Proficiency in tools such as JMP or equivalent
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Familiarity with materials management tools for tracking, traceability, and issue management
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work across cross-functional teams and align stakeholders
