Supply Chain Planner

Saronic Saronic · Defense · Austin, TX · Supply Chain

Supply Chain Planner II role focused on managing and optimizing the flow of materials and information for autonomous surface vessels, including forecasting demand, managing inventory, and supporting production. Requires partnership with engineering, procurement, and suppliers to ensure material readiness, balancing cost, risk, and schedule, while ensuring compliance with DoD regulations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own and improve end-to-end tactical supply plans to support NPI builds, production builds, and/or off-nominal builds.
  2. Translate engineering demand, build schedules, and program milestones into executable material requirements within ERP/MRP systems, ensuring system-driven visibility and control.
  3. Optimize factory planning parameters (lead times, lot sizes, safety stock, planning fences, reorder strategies) to improve material flow, reduce shortages, and support rapid design iteration.
  4. Drive BOM maturity and change management execution by assessing material impact of ECOs, managing cut-ins/cut-outs, and minimizing excess and obsolete exposure.
  5. Identify and mitigate material readiness risks related to design instability, supplier capacity constraints, long-lead components, and quality performance through structured risk registers and recovery plans.
