What you'd actually do

  1. Ensure the right materials are available for production and delivered on time.
  2. Review on-hand vs. required across products; prioritize needs, set inventory levels, and plan where materials should be sent.
  3. Use MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to compare demand and supply for purchased parts, identify shortages, and update plans and orders as inventory changes.
  4. Use BOMs (Bills of Materials) to identify required parts for each product, monitor inventory against the BOM, and adjust orders accordingly.
  5. Forecast material needs and build delivery schedules so parts arrive when they’re needed.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of supply chain, planning, or closely related experience -OR- Master's degree and 3+ years of experience; in lieu of degree 4+ years of additional experience in supply chain, planning or closely related experience may be considered for a level 3
  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of supply chain, planning, or closely related experience -OR- Master's degree and 6+ years of experience; in lieu of degree 4+ years of additional experience in supply chain, planning or closely related experience may be considered for a level 4
  • Experience with Costpoint or similar ERP system
  • MS Office including Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance. U.S. Citizenship is a pre-requisite.

  • Supply chain experience for an aerospace and/or defense company.
