This role is for a Supply Chain Planning Specialist at Northrop Grumman, focusing on defining and executing material strategies, leading demand-supply planning with MRP tools, optimizing inventory, conducting make-vs-buy analysis, and supporting capacity planning. It requires a bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent experience, along with proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and execute the material strategy, aligning supply resources with corporate objectives and product line priorities.
  2. Lead demand‑supply planning with MRP tools; aggregate forecasts, assess purchase‑material positions, and produce rough‑cut capacity and production schedules.
  3. Optimize inventory across dependent and independent BOMs, adjusting supply requirements to balance service levels, working capital, and stock‑out risk.
  4. Conduct make‑vs‑buy analysis and manage product phase‑in, phase‑out, manufacturing ramp‑up, and end‑of‑life transitions.
  5. Partner with sourcing, operations, and finance to synchronize inventory targets, resolve non‑standard part requirements, and mitigate critical‑path procurements.
