Job Summary: As a Supply Chain Planning Engineer, you will be the primary contact and support person for multiple PSLD Projects associated with dealer demand planning and forecasting. You will be actively engaged with Caterpillar Dealers to gain a granular level forecast, collaborate on supply and achieve superior customer service. These areas focus primarily on Demand Management, Service, Cost analysis and strategic inventory stocking decisions. Additionally, you will be part of multiple teams that focus on managing stocking for Critical Component parts.
What you will do: • Primary focus on inventory management (IM) oriented duties, driving
improvements to service and inventory by optimizing Distribution Requirements.
- Planning (DRP), fixed requirement processes and other IM processes.
- Perform work to achieve supply chain performance targets focused on Service, On-Time-In-Lines (OTIL), On-Time-In-Full (OTIF), Territorial Dealer Availability (TDA), Inventory Turns and Work Orders Completion.
- Supporting internal process partners in areas of root causes schedule variability, backorders and service loss.
- Collect, analyze and present data in monthly Dealer S&OP Reviews.
- Create, execute and maintain on-going weekly and monthly reports.
- Participate in all projects and meetings to support improvements in Backorders, Past Due Schedules and Service Loss.
- Must be comfortable presenting material in front of audiences in person as well as through Teams.
- Excellent presentation skills and confidence to present in front of / to audiences.
What you will have: Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives. Supply Chain Management - MFG: Knowledge of functions, principles and techniques used in supply chain management; ability to develop and use, strategies, practices and tools for controlling the logistical processes.
Business Process Improvement: Knowledge of business process improvement best practices and ability to use methods for identifying, evaluating, introducing and implementing more efficient approaches to performing business related activities.
Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.
Basic requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- English pre-advanced.
- Spanish pre-advanced.
- Senior experience in Service Parts Logistics (with inventory management knowledge).
- Previous experience with SAP systems including SPP Service Parts Planning modules.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with a strong focus on Excel and PowerPoint (presentations).
Top candidates will also have:
- Senior years of previous experience utilizing PC SAS programming.
- Advanced educational degree (MBA and postgraduate).
- Advanced knowledge in Power BI.
- Advanced/Fluent English.
- Advanced/Fluent Spanish.
- Experience with Dealers relationship
- Demonstrated curiosity and innovation mindset, with interest in exploring new technologies and digital solutions to enhance processes and business outcomes.

- 25% or less travel
Note: This position requires the candidate to work on-site five days a week.
