Support Engineer

This role is a Support Engineer for AWS Region Services, focusing on Linux technical support within a secure cloud environment. The role involves troubleshooting customer issues, interacting with engineering teams, driving process improvements, and writing technical documentation. While the role uses internal AI systems for problem-solving, its core function is technical support and system administration, not AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Apply advanced troubleshooting techniques to provide unique solutions to our customers' individual needs.
  2. Interact with engineers and partner with other AWS teams to help reproduce and resolve customer issues.
  3. Leverage your extensive customer support experience to provide feedback to internal AWS teams on how to improve our services.
  4. Drive customer communication during critical events.
  5. Drive projects that improve support-related processes and our customers’ technical support experience.

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years of technical support experience
  • Experience scripting in modern program languages
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP, DNS and TCP/IP
  • 1+ years of Linux systems administration and/or development experience

Nice to have

  • Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
  • Bachelor's degree, or 1+ years of relevant technical position experience
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and design considerations
  • Experience with networking fundamentals
  • Experience with server, storage, networking, or large-scale distributed systems
