This role is for a Principal System Administrator responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of a 24/7 IT system team, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability. Responsibilities include overseeing incident management, scheduling, troubleshooting, installing and configuring Windows and Linux VMs, maintaining virtual environments, managing user accounts and permissions, and supporting DevOps software integration. The role requires a Top Secret clearance with SCI indoctrination and experience in IT Service Management, Linux/Windows administration, and virtual environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the day-to-day operations of the 24/7 team, ensuring availability, performance, and reliability of the IT system.
  2. Oversee incident, request, problem, and change management processes.
  3. Establish the 24/7 team schedule to ensure continuous System Administrator coverage for this critical, national security mission.
  4. Install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain Windows and Linux VMs.
  5. Support integration of DevOps software: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Ansible, and Terraform.
