System and Component Power Engineer

This role is for a System Power Engineer at AMD, focusing on ensuring client products deliver optimal performance and battery life. The engineer will be responsible for power characterization, analysis, debug, and issue resolution, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate deliverables and implement test strategies. The role involves hands-on testing, root cause analysis of power challenges, and optimization of PC system components. Experience in SoC architectural characterization, system power optimization, and PC architecture is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Drive targeted battery life and power characterization, analysis, & attainment for Client products with continuous test, debug, analysis, & defect resolution throughout the course of a project
  2. Engage with cross-functional leadership & teams to integrate your deliverables with other project work streams
  3. Implement strategies & test plans for product-specific power scenarios, features, and target market spaces as appropriate; identify risks & build mitigation plans
  4. Hands-on characterization and debug to root cause power (and at times performance) challenges; collaborate with peer teams to analyze behaviors and resolve issues
  5. Support cross-functional technical teams with targeted ad hoc analyses through hands-on testing
