System Development Engineer, Ar Tech Enable & Solutions

Amazon Amazon · Big Tech · Austin, TX · Systems, Quality, & Security Engineering

System Development Engineer role focused on building and scaling an enterprise integration platform that connects various internal and external systems, including AI systems, using AWS services. The role involves designing and implementing event-driven connectors, API orchestration, and data transformation pipelines.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, build, and scale the enterprise integration platform (hub-and-spoke architecture) that orchestrates data flow between PLM, ERP, IAM, and AI systems internally, and 3PL/supplier systems externally
  2. Develop and maintain event-driven connectors, API routes, and data transformation pipelines that enable upstream and downstream systems including external trading partners to publish and subscribe to product lifecycle and supply chain events
  3. Design and implement partner onboarding patterns that reduce 3PL integration timelines from months to weeks through standardized, reusable connector frameworks and industry-standard protocols (EDI, AS2, API-based interchange)
  4. Build and operate real-time and batch integration pipelines using AWS services (EventBridge, Step Functions, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, SQS/SNS)
  5. Design schema mapping and data transformation logic across heterogeneous enterprise systems.

Skills

Required

  • Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
  • Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
  • Experience with Linux/Unix
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development, or 3+ years of system administration experience
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
  • 1+ years of systems engineering experience, or Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent
  • 1+ years of Amazon experience, or experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings

Nice to have

  • Experience with event-driven middleware
  • Experience with B2B data interchange standards (EDI, AS2)
  • Experience with API orchestration layers
  • Experience with AWS EventBridge, Step Functions, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, DynamoDB, S3, SQS/SNS
