We are seeking a passionate System Development Engineer to innovate in building Human Machine Interfacing Platforms to join the AIT team within the Amazon Fulfillment Technologies Robotics organization.

As a System Development Engineer, you will be a highly experienced technical contributor responsible for bringing your expertise in industrial automation and control systems to the design, development, and continuous improvement of a mission-critical equipment visualization platform. You will work closely with Principal Engineers, Product Teams, UX designers, Front End and Back End Software Development Engineers to deliver a scalable, high-performance, and user-centric platform.
Key job responsibilities • Collaborate with the team to ensure the platform seamlessly integrates with a wide range of industrial equipment, sensors, and other control system components. • Contribute to the overall system architecture and design, providing input on the integration of industrial automation components. • Assist in defining the data flow, communication protocols, and interface specifications between the platform and the underlying industrial systems. • Identify and address technical challenges related to the integration of industrial automation technologies into the visualization platform. • Participate in the development of critical system components to incorporate industrial-specific features and functionalities into the platform, leveraging your expertise in industrial automation and control systems. • Identify opportunities to optimize the platform's performance, reliability, and scalability. • Contribute to the definition and implementation of comprehensive testing strategies, including the validation of industrial automation and control system integrations. • Analyze test results and provide technical expertise to diagnose and resolve complex issues related to the integration of industrial components. • Ensure the platform meets the required performance, reliability, and security standards for industrial applications.

Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience in automating, deploying, and supporting large-scale infrastructure
- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Golang, Java, C++, C#, Rust
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines build processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with distributed systems at scale
- Experience building services using AWS products
- Knowledge of a front-end language (Javascript, CSS, HTML, etc.)
- Experience with Linux/Unix
- Experience with Industrial control systems, both hardware and software

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $116,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $201,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
