System Test Engineer Lead - Sapphire

Boeing Boeing · Aerospace · Huntsville, AL +12

Boeing Defense & Space is seeking a Test System Engineer Lead for the Sapphire Program, focusing on modernizing digital engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing processes. The role involves leading end-to-end Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) efforts, developing test strategies, managing integration labs, coordinating cross-discipline activities, leading test execution, resolving anomalies, establishing test automation, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards, and mentoring a test team. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in systems integration and test, test automation, requirements verification, and configuration management. A U.S. Security Clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead end-to-end Systems Engineering Integration & Test (SEIT) efforts for the Sapphire program, owning test strategy, planning, execution, and closure across lab, ground, and flight environments.
  2. Develop and maintain the program-level test & verification master plan, detailed test plans, procedures, and acceptance criteria; ensure traceability to system requirements.
  3. Define, establish and manage integration labs, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) setups, test benches, telemetry, and data collection/analysis capabilities necessary to execute test campaigns.
  4. Coordinate cross-discipline integration and test activities with cross functional IT bedrocks (ERP, MES, PDM) and I&I and subcontractor teams.
  5. Lead test execution for complex system-level integration events, anomaly resolution, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions; drive test defect lifecycle to closure.
