Systems Design Engineer

AMD is seeking a Systems Design Engineer to join their team. The role involves developing and automating system power modeling, creating software/hardware modeling frameworks, and profiling power impact. The engineer will drive technical innovation, enhance methodologies, and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure features are validated and optimized. Experience with PC system and APU/SOC power management, low power measurement, and power modeling concepts is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and automate System Power Modeling
  2. Develop software/hardware modeling frameworks
  3. Profiling power impact from components, features and workloads
  4. Driving technical innovation to improve AMD’s capabilities across product development and validation, including tool and script development, technical and procedural methodology enhancement, and various internal and cross-functional initiatives
  5. Working with multiple teams and tracking test execution to make sure all features are validated and optimized on time

Required

  • Programming/scripting skills (e.g., C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python)
  • Debug techniques and methodologies
  • Experience with common lab equipment, including protocol/logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, etc.
  • Experience with board/platform-level debug, including delivery, sequencing, analysis, and optimization
  • Knowledge of system architecture, technical debug, and validation strategies
