Systems Engineer 5 / Technical Deputy Program Manager at Northrop Grumman in Aurora, CO. What you'd actually do

  1. Cultivating customer relationships and intimacy to develop further opportunities within the customer community.
  2. Developing new business opportunities through development of proposals and business plans.
  3. Measuring and reporting program performance.
  4. Delivering presentations to customers, executive management, and other program stakeholders.
  5. Working with the Chief Engineer and Chief Architect to design concepts, criteria, and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration, and test.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 12 years of relevant experience, a master’s degree in a STEM discipline with 10 years of relevant experience or a PhD in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant experience
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
  • Experience supporting and/or managing Space programs related to developing software and ground systems
  • Experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead, integrated program team or cost account manager
  • Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal.
  • Experience in risk and opportunity management
  • Experience managing subcontract and supply chain elements of the program in a manner that supports program goals and company strategy
  • Experience managing the maintenance, operations, and support of production systems
  • Experience managing communications with stakeholders and customers.

Nice to have

  • Excellent organizational and written communication skills, as well as project management planning and presentation skills
  • Experience with different contract types (Cost Plus, Fixed Price, Time & Materials).
  • Experience managing cost proposals
  • Experience with Agile software development and software development lifecycle
