Boeing Defense, Space & Security is seeking Associate or Mid-level Systems Engineers to join the Space and Launch Engineering team in El Segundo, California, to design and develop state-of-the-art, space-based communication systems for commercial, civil, and national security programs. The role involves designing and developing next generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems, developing and verifying multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures, and allocating, defining, and verifying requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and develop next generation RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems.
  2. Develop and verify multi-rate, fixed-point digital signal processing architectures.
  3. Allocate, define, and verify requirements and interfaces in the development of communication digital payloads.
  4. Develop performance analysis of signal processing models.
  5. Develop prototype demonstrations on flight-like communication subsystem testbeds.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • Education or experience in signal processing
  • 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications

Nice to have

  • Electrical Engineering or similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus
  • Master's degree in or similar degree in signal processing or algorithm development focus
  • Development of algorithms for hardware implementation on ASICs or FPGAs
  • Digital Signal Processing based classes, projects or work experience
  • Simulink experience in work or school.
  • Python, C++, or other languages acceptable
  • Substantive involvement and/or leadership in group-oriented project work
  • Verification planning and principles, while applying their theoretical knowledge in resolving real world problems
