Systems Engineer (experienced Level)

Boeing is seeking a Systems Engineer to develop proposal estimates for aircraft modifications. Responsibilities include creating Statements of Work, determining affected groups, defining configurations, performing technical research, identifying prerequisites, developing risk assessments, classifying proposals, and providing project analysis. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 5+ years of aviation experience.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop Statement of Work (SOW), for Request for Proposals and Catalogs, containing engineering hours, flow time, and parts requirements in support of BGS Modifications Services.
  2. Determine affected groups and supporting organizations, including engineering groups external to Modifications.
  3. Define airplane starting configurations and system functionality while utilizing job classification and training to perform technical research to confirm description of change accuracy.
  4. Identifying prerequisites that must be completed concurrently or before the customer requested change can be incorporated.
  5. Develop preliminary risk assessments, resolve/validate type change certification (major/minor), and identify concurring E-UM/DAE as appropriate to mitigate project risk.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
  • 5+ years of experience in Aviation (Engineering or Maintenance Functions)

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of one or more airplane systems (e.g. Airframe, Avionics, Components, Power plant, Structures, Interiors)
  • Experience with BCA production systems and BGS modifications services
  • General knowledge of the airplane certification process
  • 5+ years of Engineering experience in BCA, BDS or BGS
