Boeing's Phantom Works is hiring Systems Engineers for the Missile Defense National Teams in Colorado Springs, CO. The role involves shaping system-level concepts, architectures, requirements, and assessments for America's Missile Defense System and the Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) system. Responsibilities include defining system architecture, developing requirements and interfaces, planning and executing integration and test activities, and building/maintaining modeling and simulation tools to evaluate system performance. The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 4+ years of systems engineering experience, and an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Help define and evolve the MDA/C2BMC system architecture.
  2. Plan and execute integration and checkout work – define tasks, schedule them, assign work, monitor completion, and keep the integration plan moving.
  3. Evaluate system performance across realistic scenarios and architectures to provide mission insight used by MDA and warfighters.
  4. Own and improve the requirements management engine: planning, organizing, implementing, and monitoring of requirements processes and tools (including traceability, change control, and quality).
  5. Execute and document integration and test events, including capturing results, issues, and evidence needed for verification.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 4 or more years' related engineering experience.
  • Prior experience in system engineering (e.g. Systems, Design, Architecture, Requirements or Test).

Nice to have

  • Leadership experience to include but not limited to engineering leadership roles and/or leading work and driving teams to success.
  • Familiarity with missile-defense mission context, especially command & control, battle managements, and communications.
  • Experience with requirements analysis & verification.
  • Experience with requirements and architecture development for complex systems/system-of-systems.
  • Experience using MBSE / requirements tools such as Cameo, DOORS, or similar.
  • Experience supporting architecture / requirements trade studies.
  • Experience driving or support integration and test, including executing and documenting test events.
  • Experience developing or tailor
