Meta is seeking a Systems Integration Engineer to lead the integration of new hardware platforms and infrastructure technologies into their data centers. This role involves developing test plans for AI/ML hardware, compute, storage, and networking products, and ensuring operational readiness at scale. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to validate tooling, influence hardware architecture, and manage the lifecycle of new hardware.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead new product introduction and associated processes for the successful launch of new hardware platforms into our data centers globally
  2. Lead architecture reviews with hardware engineering teams to analyze and develop diagnostic coverage plans for both hardware and software
  3. Lead hardware reviews and drive system design for serviceability requirements to ensure form, fit and function for new hardware development in our existing data center environment/architecture
  4. Lead the development and execution of Data Center readiness tooling validation testing based on tooling development plans
  5. Early engagement with design development teams (both internal and external) to drive improvements and influence hardware and tooling architecture

Skills

Required

  • BS in Engineering or relevant field, or commensurate technical experience
  • Strong communications skills and demonstrated ability to influence cross functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a solution-oriented attitude
  • Proven track record of dealing with ambiguity and developing processes for new technologies and taking them to production
  • Experience developing test plan derived from specifications and executing to those plans using industry standard testing tools for successful completion
  • Experience with ASIC, compute, storage, and network architecture and components, hardware troubleshooting and diagnosis, and/or hardware manufacturing
  • Experience working in a global environment with remote teams
  • Experience coding in higher-level languages (e.g., Python, PHP, C++, or Java)
  • Experience learning software, frameworks and APIs
  • Experience with operational validation methods and verification activities for the new product integration
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships and influencing policies and procedures to improve hardware platform integration
  • Experience mentoring team members to evaluate and identify better ways to resolve issues and define updates to tools and processes
  • Experience with AI/ML hardware development and deployment at scale
  • Experience with hardware development and lifecycle management
  • Proficiency with git or similar SCM tools
  • Experience with test-driven software development
  • Knowledge of out-of-band/lights-out server communication methods, such as IPMI and serial console
  • Experience with Linux operating systems and utilities

Nice to have

  • Master's or PhD in Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing engineering
  • Experience with developing for, or managing large-scale server installations
