Systems Integration Engineer - Compute Tower

Johnson & Johnson Johnson & Johnson · Pharma · Santa Clara, CA +1

This role focuses on integrating complex compute and vision hardware systems for a surgical robotics platform. Responsibilities include bringing up, debugging, and integrating various components, conducting root cause analysis, characterizing system performance, and defining production tests. The role requires a BS/MS/PhD in relevant engineering fields with experience in system integration, hardware/software/firmware components, and Python scripting. Experience with PCBs, biomedical engineering, or robotics is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Bring-up, debug, and integrate electrical, mechanical, software, and firmware components to build complex systems
  2. Conduct root cause investigations into system failures, provide critical input to design teams, and engineer innovative features to prevent future issues
  3. Characterize and calibrate system performance
  4. Define and develop production tests, in collaboration with the manufacturing team
  5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including hardware, software, robotics control, surgical instruments, clinical, architecture, manufacturing, operations, service, etc.
