Northrop Grumman is seeking a Systems Test Engineer or Principal Systems Test Engineer to join their Test and Evaluation organization in Palmdale, CA. The role involves serving as a subject matter expert for aircraft systems, ensuring testing is executed safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include test development, coordination, readiness reviews, providing real-time support during testing, and post-test analysis. The position requires proficiency across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines and requires an active U.S. government Secret Clearance.

What you'd actually do

  1. Contribute to the creation of acceptance test plans (ATP), test schedules, and detailed integration test procedures.
  2. Host test planning working groups and coordinate technical reviews to move ATPs through the formal approval process.
  3. Lead Test Readiness Reviews (TRR) prior to execution.
  4. Provide real-time support during testing, making critical decisions regarding safety and effectiveness.
  5. Act as the technical expert for aircraft systems.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university
  • Experience in a system test environment
  • Proficiency with Mechanical or Electrical or Electromechanical Engineering concepts
  • Ability to work multiple shifts depending on program need and have ability and willingness to work non-standard shifts/overtime
  • Proficient with MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and/or Power Point
