Tankline and Aircraft Painter Specialist – Samc (4992)

This role involves painting aircraft and aircraft parts, including preparation work, mixing paints, and applying coatings. It requires experience with painting, sanding, taping, and material mixing, as well as the ability to work with chemicals and read specifications.

What you'd actually do

  1. Coat surfaces of aircraft with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns and other devices, removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper
  2. Smooth surface with sandpaper and steel wool, roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to ensure that paint adheres to surface
  3. Mask and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted, and paint insignia, letters or numerals on aircraft surface, using stencils
  4. Search and read the specifications in DPS engineering drawings

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years of experience painting aircraft or aircraft parts
  • 1+ years of experience sanding, taping, mixing materials for the application of paint
  • Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift

Nice to have

  • 1+ years of experience working on military and commercial aircraft platforms
  • 1+ years of experience working with hazardous materials
  • Prior experience as a painter and/or tankline specialist
