Work you'll do
As a Tax Consultant, Tax Software Engineering on the Tax team, you will work directly with clients, build relationships as a trusted tax specialist and advisor, and collaborate with high-performing teams to develop solutions to complex tax issues through research, technology, and consultation with other team members.
- Research tax regulations and analyze tax implications for client facts, transactions, and business activities
- Develop recommendations based on tax research and communicate findings to engagement teams and clients
- Use technology and data-driven approaches to support tax analysis, process improvement, and client service delivery
- Manage multiple client assignments at the same time in both in-person and virtual team environments
- Collaborate with team members to address complex tax issues and support delivery across a variety of organizations and industries

Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor of Science/Business Administration in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Strong academic track record with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2–3 days per week
- The start date for this position will be in Summer 2026
- Ability to travel 20-50%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
- Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.
- Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at the time of employment.
Preferred:
- Master of Science in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant work experience (e.g. internships, summer positions, school jobs)

This compensation range is specific to New Jersey and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $54,160 to $99,600.
