Tax Manager - Credits & Incentives

This role is for a Tax Manager specializing in Credits & Incentives within Deloitte's Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) practice. The manager will identify eligible federal C&I generating activities, manage analysis and documentation of opportunities, and advise clients on benefits and eligibility. Responsibilities include managing R&D tax credit/deduction analyses, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, and Sustainability/Renewable Energy tax credits. The role also involves client relationship management, technical skill application, mentoring junior staff, and monitoring tax legislation.

What you'd actually do

  1. Managing federal credits and incentives opportunities including Research and Development tax credit/deduction analyses, New Markets Tax Credit, Qualified Opportunity Zones, Sustainability and Renewable Energy tax credits, and other federal credit incentive service offerings
  2. Deliver value to clients by identifying opportunities and advise clients on potential benefit and eligibility requirements
  3. Maintain and develop strong internal and client relationships
  4. Leveraging your extensive technical skills developed through your growing reputation in a given industry/service offering to solve complex issues
  5. Demonstrating sound judgement and instincts with respect to evaluating complex scenarios involving various credits and incentives opportunities

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, engineering, technology, or related field
  • 5+ years' experience in related field
  • Proven knowledge of R&D tax incentives experience and/or experience with New Markets Tax Credits, Qualified Opportunity Zones, or Renewable Energy tax credits
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple, competing priorities
  • Active accreditations
