Tax Manager - Fiduciary Services

This role is for a Tax Manager in Deloitte's Business Tax Services group, focusing on federal tax compliance and consulting for a diverse client base. It involves managing engagement teams, providing tax planning, compliance, controversy, and risk management services, and working with specialists. The role requires experience in federal tax compliance, accounting, provisions, analysis, and research.

Skills

Required

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2-3 days per week
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in federal tax compliance, federal tax accounting and provisions, tax analysis, and tax research
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree (MST, JD, and/or LLM)
  • Prior Big 4/large CPA firm experience
  • Fiduciary income, transfer tax, and exempt-entity compliance/consulting for trusts, estates, and tax-exempt organizations
  • Review and management of IRS filings (Forms 706, 1041, 1040)
  • Cross-border compliance: identify foreign reporting obligations and prepare/advise on international/informational returns (e.g., 5471, 8858, 8865, 3520, 3520-A)
  • U.S. tax structuring for multi-jurisdiction inheritance/succession planning, including domestic and foreign trust structures
  • Strong tax research, technical writing, and issue-spotting; able to explain complex issues to clients and non-tax stakeholders
