Tax Manager, Sustainability Credits

This role is for a Tax Manager focused on Sustainability Credits within Deloitte's Global Investment and Innovation Incentives (Gi3) practice. The manager will advise clients on sustainability and social Federal C&I programs, manage documentation, identify opportunities, and stay updated on relevant legislation and regulations. The role involves client relationship management, collaboration with internal teams, and mentorship of junior members.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage and facilitate Federal C&I engagements related to sustainability and ESG, including programs under the Internal Revenue Code (“IRC”), such as:
  2. Deliver value to clients by identifying opportunities and advise clients on potential benefit and eligibility requirements
  3. Maintain and develop strong internal and client relationships
  4. Demonstrate sound judgment and a quality-first mentality with respect to evaluating eligibility for various fact patterns
  5. Develop process with our colleagues in other technical specialties and other materials to perform benefit calculations

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, law, business administration, economics, engineering, environmental studies, geology, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in related field
  • Demonstrated analytical and research skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to collaborate and proactively develop internal and external working relationships
