Tax Senior - Banking & Capital Markets

This role is for a Tax Senior in the Banking & Capital Markets industry, focusing on federal tax compliance and consulting services. Responsibilities include developing client relationships, advising on tax issues, and overseeing complex tax projects. The role requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field, with at least 3 years of experience in federal taxation and relevant accreditations like CPA, Attorney, or Enrolled Agent.

What you'd actually do

  1. Developing and maintaining strong client relationships on various federal tax consulting/compliance engagements.
  2. Advising clients on a variety of tax issues including accounting for income taxes, FTA (periods, methods & credits), tax provisions, tax compliance, business restructuring, and tax controversy.
  3. Overseeing complex federal tax compliance and consulting projects requiring tax analysis for a variety of entities and their affiliates.

Skills

Required

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-locate in person 2 – 3 days per week
  • Ability to travel up to 25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in federal taxation
  • Preparation and review experience of federal tax returns
  • Excellent research and writing skills
  • Excellent presentation and communications skills
  • Licensed CPA in the state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA exam
  • Licensed Attorney
  • Enrolled Agent
  • Certified Financial Accountant (CFA)
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP)

Nice to have

  • Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM
  • Experience with accounting for income taxes in accordance to ASC740
  • Previous Big 4 or large CPA firm experience
  • Experience in banking, securities and/or capital market industries
