This role is for a Senior Business Development Manager within Visa's Japan Client Relationship Management team. The primary focus is on developing client relationships and executing strategic partnership opportunities with payment industry leaders. Responsibilities include mediating between clients and internal stakeholders, understanding client priorities, performing quantitative analysis and financial modeling, orchestrating client experience, managing risk, and driving a sales pipeline for core products and services. The role requires strong ownership, flexibility, analytical skills, commercial acumen, and risk management capabilities, with a client-focused and results-driven approach.

What you'd actually do

  1. Mediating between clients and internal stakeholders to deepen mutual understanding and elevate their importance, striving to be chosen as the best partner by our strategically important clients.
  2. Working with client manager level to ensure their priorities and operational capabilities are clearly understood and our work plans are clearly aligned with them.
  3. Strong analytical skills and comfortable with quantitative analysis, financial modelling, and finding ways to add quantitative rigor to qualitative analysis
  4. Act as the orchestrator of how our clients consistently experience the best of Visa’s global expertise.
  5. Achieving optimal balance of client and Visa’s interests

Skills

Required

  • Native level Japanese
  • business level English
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales, business development or management consulting
  • Proven ability to design, negotiate and manage execution of business agreements.
  • Experience in planning, managing and closing complex and competitive sales efforts.
  • Experience in stakeholder management at large, complex organizations.
  • Strong academic credentials.

Nice to have

  • Good understanding of Japanese payment industry
  • Knowledge and experience with payments, eCommerce, and mobile technologies is a plus.
  • An MBA or similar degree from a top tier institution is preferred.
