This role is a Team Manager for Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) team, focusing on speech and language solutions. The manager will oversee daily job assignments, monitor performance, support hiring and training, ensure productivity, develop work schedules, liaise with other teams, track metrics, and implement process improvements. The AGI organization provides speech recognition capabilities and data labeling services to enable ML model development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage job assignment on a day-to-day basis, monitoring performance on job or queue adherence, volume, and quality
  2. Support hiring and training of new Associates
  3. Ensure productivity is maximized through supervision, training, analysis, and feedback of performance data on a periodic basis
  4. Develop the work schedule for the week by balancing work across various workflows and/or navigating competing delivery priorities
  5. Liaise with Program Management and other global operations team leads to manage risks & propose mitigation strategies

Skills

Required

  • Experience managing people and leading a team
  • Advanced-level proficiency in English language (C1+ or equivalent fluency by Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) standards)

  • Experience in a people management or leadership role which includes coaching and developing others
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse talent within a team, work cross-functionally, and build consensus on difficult issues
