This role is a Team Manager for Data Services within Amazon's Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) organization. The team focuses on data creation, curation, and analytics to support the development and training of Alexa AI, specifically improving speech recognition and language understanding capabilities. The manager will oversee daily operations, hiring, training, performance monitoring, scheduling, and process improvement, working closely with ML Science teams. While the team supports AI development, the manager's core responsibilities are operational and people management, not direct AI/ML model building.

What you'd actually do

  1. Manage job assignment on a day-to-day basis, monitoring performance on job or queue adherence, volume, and quality
  2. Support hiring and training of new Associates
  3. Ensure productivity is maximized through supervision, training, analysis, and feedback of performance data on a periodic basis
  4. Develop the work schedule for the week by balancing work across various workflows and/or navigating competing delivery priorities
  5. Liaise with Program Management and other global operations team leads to manage risks & propose mitigation strategies

Skills

Required

  • Proficiency verbal and written communication in English & German or Italian | B2+ level for all
  • Bachelor Degree (any subject) or advanced college education or experience in a Leadership or related position with management
  • Experience in understanding performance metrics and developing them to measure progress against key performance indicators

Nice to have

  • Experience with process improvement/quality control tools and methods
  • Demonstrated ability to lead talent within a team, work cross-functionally, and build consensus on difficult issues
  • Excellent communication, strong organizational skills and very detail-oriented
