Team Manager - Maintenance

Ford Ford · Auto · Sterling Heights, MI +1 · Manufacturing

Ford is seeking a visionary and results-driven Maintenance Manager to lead their newly restructured maintenance organization. This role focuses on transforming maintenance operations by driving the Ford Maintenance Operating System (MOS) and Lean Maturity in Maintenance to world-class levels, ensuring equipment reliability supports manufacturing demands. Responsibilities include leading the maintenance team, driving LMM maturity, overseeing operational excellence, developing maintenance strategy, loss mitigation, championing predictive tools, managing FRACAS, continuous improvement initiatives, and managing budgets and safety targets.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and develop a multi-layered maintenance team, including Senior Production Supervisors and Skilled Trade teams, fostering a culture of technical ownership and continuous improvement.
  2. Execute the strategy to move the plant toward Level 3 "Cultural" maturity across all LMM criteria: Operational Excellence, PM/PD Tasks, Loss Mitigation, Proactive Maintenance, and Reliability Leadership.
  3. Oversee the Maintenance Control Center (MCC) and Business Control Center (BCC). Ensure 100% accuracy of the asset registry and drive constraint management processes to eliminate bottlenecks.
  4. Drive the transition from reactive to proactive maintenance. Achieve a World Class PM/CM ratio (target 6:1) and ensure 100% completion of PMs for constraint assets.
  5. Implement and sustain BBQ (Back-up, By-pass, Quick Recovery) processes. Manage critical spare parts inventory and ensure "single-path" assets have verified backup strategies.
