What you'd actually do

  1. Foster a safety-first culture and ensure the rigorous implementation of workplace policies.
  2. Lead and coach skilled trades personnel in all aspects of asset management, including availability (MTTR, MTBF), cycle time, and preventative/predictive maintenance technologies.
  3. Manage Safety standards, measurables, policies and procedures that are maintained for entire area of responsibility in conjunction with Ford/UAW and plant standards.
  4. Manage departmental budget spending for labor/overhead, industrial materials and utilities and oversee administrative actions
  5. Coordinate, schedule, and supervise Skilled Trades teams across both production and maintenance shifts.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience OR 8+ years of directly relevant industry experience
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends as required
  • Fundamental knowledge of PLC logic, controls, and fluid circulation systems
  • Strong mechanical aptitude

Nice to have

  • Master's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related)
  • In-depth knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and constraint management principles
  • Direct experience in an automotive manufacturing environment, specifically with presses
  • Proven experience managing a unionized workforce
