Team Manager for Material Planning and Logistics (MP&L) at Ford's new BlueOval Battery Park Michigan. This role involves leading plant launch activities, establishing the MP&L team and processes, overseeing supply chain operations, material flow, logistics, customs compliance, and ERP/MRP system implementation. Requires significant experience in manufacturing MP&L and leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead MP&L launch activities for the Battery Pack plant, including establishing the local MP&L organizational structure, processes, and team.
  2. Oversee inventory planning, production control, capacity management, and constraint resolution to ensure seamless plant operations.
  3. Design and optimize advanced material flow planning, warehouse operations, and plant material handling layouts.
  4. Manage inbound and outbound logistics, import/export operations, customs compliance, and tariff/duty management.
  5. Drive ERP/MRP system process mapping, coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and lead the system launch for the facility.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 5–8+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing material planning, production scheduling, supply chain, and logistics
  • 5+ years of ERP/MRP Experience
  • 5+ years of material planning and logistics leadership experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced plant launch environment

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 8-12+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing material planning, production scheduling, supply chain, and logistics.
  • Automotive industry experience strongly preferred (OEM or Tier supplier)
  • AIAG MMOG/LE standards experience
  • Strong experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP)
  • Excellent communication and leadership experience
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities
