Tech Lead, Kernel and Os, Google Distributed Cloud

Google Google · Big Tech · Sunnyvale, CA +1

The Tech Lead for Kernel and OS at Google Distributed Cloud will lead the Kernel and OS strategy for a platform delivering consistent cloud experiences across air-gapped, connected, and hybrid environments. This role involves architecting secure foundations for LLMs using confidential computing and GPU infrastructure, designing software stacks to protect sensitive data, and solving complex Kernel and OS problems.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead the organization's Kernel and operating system strategy and roadmap as a primary subject matter expert.
  2. Architect and design the operating system and Kernel software stack for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) solutions.
  3. Solve ambiguous Kernel and OS problems, from scoping and design to implementation and testing.
  4. Drive technical excellence and serve as the escalation point for OS and Kernel decisions, balancing velocity with sustainability.
  5. Align upstream open-source Linux strategies with GDC roadmaps while authoring detailed technical specifications and design documentation.
