Tech Lead Manager for the Admin Console team at Glean, an AI platform company. What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and grow the Admin Console engineering team, providing both people leadership and strong technical direction.
  2. Own architecture and execution for core admin-facing workflows including data source setup, security configuration, deployment management, and feature rollout controls.
  3. Partner closely with Product and Design to simplify complex enterprise workflows and make the admin experience more intuitive and scalable.
  4. Help evolve the Admin Console from a system centered on crawlers and data setup into a broader control plane for enterprise context, actions, governance, and AI capability management.
  5. Improve self-serve activation so admins can get their organizations up and running faster, with less dependency on human support.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience building production distributed systems or cloud‑native applications.
  • 1+ years of engineering management experience of a full stack team
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong coding skills in at least one of: Python, Go, Java, C++, Javascript.
  • Product‑minded: you prioritize customer impact, clear SLAs/SLOs, and pragmatic iteration.
  • Ownership‑driven with a positive, proactive attitude; comfortable leading projects or learning from battle‑tested engineers.
  • Experience working on products where usability, governance, permissions, and technical complexity all matter.
  • Experience mentoring engineers with different technical strengths, including frontend and backend team members.
  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and shape roadmap, architecture, and team execution in a fast-moving environment.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and comfort partnering with product, design, security, and platform teams.
