Our mission is to build the next-generation Conversion Infrastructure that powers Google’s flagship advertising and analytics products. We are undertaking a major modernization effort to replace multiple legacy, large-scale systems with a single, unified infrastructure capable of processing trillions of events per day for conversion measurement, attribution, and modeling.
We are looking for a Tech Lead Manager to help design and build this next-generation data processing infrastructure. In this role, you will leverage and extend Google’s advanced back-end technologies to build highly scalable, cost-effective systems that unlock new capabilities for millions of users.

Responsibilities
- Act as a Tech Lead Manager (TLM) for a sub-team of approximately 6 software engineers, managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Shape the long-term technical goal and architectural strategy for our core data processing stack, with the flexibility to drive both infrastructure and product-focused initiatives.
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams—including Product Management, Program Management, and Privacy working groups—to translate complex requirements into scalable engineering solutions.
- Design, develop, and evolve our high-scale, foundational data processing infrastructure to support next-generation features.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience programming in C++.
- 5 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture.
- Experience with production systems and storage systems.
- Experience with distributed processing.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
- Experience working with streaming products in FlumeC++.
- Experience with large-scale data processing.
- Experience with Bigtable, Colossus, Spanner, or Pubsub.
