This role is for a Technical Account Manager (TAM) within Amazon Web Services (AWS) Enterprise Support in EMEA. The TAM acts as a principal technical advisor and the 'voice of the customer' for organizations using AWS services. Responsibilities include crafting and executing strategies for AWS service adoption, providing strategic technical guidance, ensuring operational health of AWS environments, and building strong customer relationships to understand their needs and challenges. The role involves driving technical discussions, collaborating with various AWS teams, and proactively identifying opportunities for customers to gain value from AWS. It also includes providing reviews of service disruptions, planning, and helping customers migrate workloads. The TAM will also uplift customer capabilities through workshops and training sessions. This is not a sales role but a customer-facing technical advisory position.

What you'd actually do

  1. You’ll build solutions, provide technical guidance and advocate for the customer
  2. Ensure AWS environments remain operationally healthy whilst reducing cost and complexity
  3. Develop trusting relationships with customers, understanding their business needs and technical challenges
  4. Using your technical acumen and customer obsession, you’ll drive technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management
  5. Consult with a range of partners from developers through to C-suite executives

Skills

Required

  • Fluency in Italian and English
  • 3+ years of technical engineering experience
  • Experience operating and troubleshooting for one (1) of the following: Compute / Storage / Networking / CDN / Databases / DevOps / Big Data and Analytics / Security / Applications Development in a distributed systems environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Math/related discipline required, OR 5 years of equivalent work experience

Nice to have

  • Professional oral and written communication skills, presenting to an audience containing one or more decision maker(s)
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings
  • Track record in influencing management in technical, operational and strategic decisions
  • Internal enterprise or external customer-facing experience as a technical lead
  • Experience with SaaS, multi-tenant architectures and deployment automation is a plus
  • Experience using generative AI tools to improve personal or team productivity
