This role is a Technical Account Manager (TAM) for National Security customers within Amazon Web Services (AWS). The TAM will act as a strategic technical advisor, helping customers adopt and utilize AWS services, manage their environments, and achieve value. The role requires deep technical acumen, customer-facing skills, and the ability to engage with senior leadership. It is not a sales role but focuses on technical guidance and customer advocacy. A TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph is mandatory.

What you'd actually do

  1. Help craft and execute strategies to drive our customers’ adoption and use of AWS services, including EC2, S3, DynamoDB & RDS databases, Lambda, SageMaker, ECS/EKS, GuardDuty, Systems Manager, CodePipeline, IoT, and many more.
  2. Provide advocacy and strategic technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices, and proactively keep your customers’ AWS environments operationally healthy.
  3. The close relationships developed with your customers will allow you to understand their business/operational needs and technical challenges, and help them achieve the greatest value from AWS.
  4. Your technical acumen and customer-facing skills will enable you to effectively represent AWS within a customer’s environment, and drive discussions with senior leadership regarding incidents, trade-offs, support and risk management.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent, or 2+ years of technical work experience
  • 2+ years of technical engineering experience
  • Experience informational technology operations
  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph

Nice to have

  • Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical lead
  • 5+ years of communicating with and presenting to executive and senior audiences experience
  • Experience with development in a distributed systems environment
  • Experience in a 24x7 operational services or support environment
  • Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
  • Experience recognizing a challenge and working with a variety of teams and data sources to diagnose the problem and recommend solutions
  • Experience with AWS services and/or other cloud offerings Federal/DoD Clearances
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework pillars and ability to properly apply them to existing or new customer architecture, implementations, and/or solutions
