This role focuses on evaluating emerging technologies, prototyping concepts, and advising senior leaders on technology strategy to drive commercial growth and operational excellence within Microsoft's commercial business. What you'd actually do

  1. Evaluate emerging technologies, platforms, and tools to inform strategic decisions related to adoptions, operational excellence, and commercial growth.
  2. Conduct deep research and synthesize key opportunities, risks, divergent viewpoints, and technology directions across the industry.
  3. Produce high‑quality executive briefs, synthesized research packets, and prioritized reading materials for senior leaders.
  4. Prototype concepts, explore technical scenarios, and support narrative building for executive technology storylines.
  5. Engage in iterative investigations and mini‑brainstorms based on evolving priorities and market signals.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 8+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 15+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 6+ years people management experience.
  • 10+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to write and understand code (any modern language), enabling hands‑on experimentation, effective collaboration with engineers, and informed evaluation of technical solutions.
