Technical Director

This role is for a Technical Director at Deloitte, focusing on the operational oversight and execution of technical production elements for live learning events. It involves managing audio, video, lighting, and projection systems, supervising technical crews, and ensuring seamless event execution. The role is part of the AI & Engineering team but the core responsibilities are in production and delivery management, not direct AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop comprehensive floor plans for events, including technical equipment placement, staging configurations, and seating arrangements
  2. Collaborate with producers, event planners, and banquet management to align layouts with program flow, sight lines, and technical requirements
  3. Monitor technical execution during events to maintain quality standards and provide real-time guidance
  4. Supervise technical crew across daily productions, including staffing coordination and crew briefings
  5. Coordinate system checks, troubleshooting, supplemental equipment sourcing, and vendor-supported installations as needed

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Technical Theatre, Audio/Visual Production, Event Management, or equivalent experience
  • Must be local to Westlake, TX and this role will require availability and delivery that aligns to the program schedule across a 7-day week (some weekends included based on business needs).
  • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
