Technical Platform Analyst – Digital Platform & Design System

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Technical Platform Analyst to support and evolve their digital services portfolio and enterprise design system. This role involves working hands-on with platform capabilities, shared components, and cross-team execution, translating platform and design system needs into user stories and managing backlogs. The analyst will partner with engineering, UX/design, and product owners to ensure platform services and design system assets are well-defined and reusable, focusing on execution and coordination rather than strategy. Responsibilities include supporting digital services, defining and maintaining reusable components, managing backlogs, and facilitating cross-team collaboration. Required qualifications include a foundational understanding of APIs, microservices, cloud services, experience with design systems, and backlog management within Agile teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Support the operation of shared digital services and platform capabilities used across multiple digital products.
  2. Partner with business, design, and engineering teams to define, build, and maintain reusable components and templates that span both the design system and platform services.
  3. Draft clear, actionable user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria for platform services and design system enhancements.
  4. Maintain and refine the platform and design system backlogs, ensuring priorities are well understood and delivery-ready.
  5. Act as a day-to-day partner to product, design, and engineering teams to clarify requirements and unblock delivery.

Skills

Required

  • Foundational understanding of modern digital delivery concepts such as APIs, microservices, and cloud-based services.
  • Experience working with or alongside design systems, component libraries, or shared UI frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience writing user stories, managing backlogs, and working within Agile delivery teams.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and design-focused stakeholders.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting a platform, shared services, or enablement team.
  • Familiarity with tools and technologies such as GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, or UI component frameworks.
  • Experience with React, NextJS (or equivalent JS frameworks), NodeJS, NestJS, or Rust
  • Exposure to enterprise or regulated environments.
  • Interest in improving developer and designer experience through better tooling, documentation, and reuse.
  • Agile (Scrum) or equivalent experience
