Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Technical Product Engineer for Medical Affairs in EMEA to design, build, and implement next-generation technology solutions. This role focuses on advanced technologies including intelligent automation, agentic AI, scientific intelligence platforms, and evidence synthesis workflows. The engineer will combine product ownership, technical design, and hands-on implementation, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and compliant AI-enabled solutions. Responsibilities include designing and implementing agentic AI, LLM integrations, evaluation frameworks, and troubleshooting technical issues.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design and implement agentic AI capabilities, orchestration workflows, and intelligent automation solutions.
  2. Contribute to the implementation of LLM integrations, knowledge repositories, prompt strategies, and AI-enabled workflows.
  3. Design and implement evaluation frameworks, guardrails, traceability mechanisms, and human-in-the-loop review processes for AI-enabled solutions.
  4. Design, build, configure, and deploy technology solutions supporting Medical Affairs workflows.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across applications, integrations, AI components, and platform services.

Skills

Required

  • 4–6 years of experience delivering enterprise digital products, technology solutions, software engineering projects, AI-enabled solutions, or related technology initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience with Generative AI, LLM-based applications, AI-enabled automation, or agentic workflows.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Experience with software delivery, APIs, integrations, cloud platforms, or enterprise applications.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication capabilities.
  • Ability to operate effectively in cross-functional and fast-changing environments.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience building, implementing, or supporting agentic AI solutions
  • Familiarity with prompt engineering, evaluation frameworks, guardrails, traceability, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Experience designing and implementing APIs, integrations, and automation workflows in enterprise environments.
  • Experience with AI platforms, LLM integration, enterprise search, knowledge management, content stores, or intelligent automation solutions.
  • Knowledge of Python, APIs, cloud platforms, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, MLflow, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with AI engineering concepts such as agent tracing, model evaluation, orchestration frameworks, and AI quality monitoring.
  • Experience in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, Medical Affairs, or other regulated industries.
  • Familiarity with GDPR, GxP, MLR, quality, compliance, or audit-readiness requirements.
