Technical Product Manager

Ford Ford · Auto · Redford Charter Twp, MI +1 · PD Operations and Quality

Product Manager for Ford's Advanced Industrial Technology & Platforms (ATP) team, focusing on scalable software-based vision products for manufacturing. The role involves setting product strategy, driving delivery from discovery to scale, and influencing cross-functional teams. Responsibilities include defining product requirements, managing backlogs, defining KPIs, leading pilot-to-scale planning, and influencing technical/business decisions.

What you'd actually do

  1. Set the product strategy and multi-release roadmap, balancing immediate operational wins with platform scalability and long-term architecture.
  2. Lead discovery with plant and operations partners to identify high-value use cases; define personas, workflows, constraints, and measurable outcomes.
  3. Own the creation and quality of product requirements (PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria), ensuring they span operational requirements, safety, cybersecurity, and systems integration
  4. Drive cross-functional execution with engineering: prioritize backlogs, define MVP scope, manage tradeoffs, and deliver releases that perform in real industrial environments.
  5. Define and monitor product KPIs such as uptime/availability, precision / recall performance, deployment lead time, implementation time, value generation, and total cost of ownership.
