Technical Program Manager (ame)

Apple Apple · Big Tech · Suzhou, China · Operations and Supply Chain

This role is for a Technical Program Manager in manufacturing equipment development and maintenance. While the core function is not AI development, there's a clear emphasis on exploring and implementing ML/AI technologies to improve manufacturing processes, predict issues, and enhance cost-efficiency. The role involves working with cross-functional teams, vendors, and applying expertise in assembly, failure analysis, and process improvement, with a stated advantage for those who can plan and implement ML solutions for smart factories.

What you'd actually do

  1. Responsible for manufacturing research and development to solve complex assembly problems that have direct impact to final product cost, quality and delivery of Apple products.
  2. Sets standard practices and independently determines impact to design approaches and parameters to the final product.
  3. Provides production support engineering to technically complex assembly methods, procedures and failure analysis.
  4. Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency.
  5. Review all equipment requirement plans along with an assessment of the robustness of the solution to meet the requirements of the operation as well as the implementation of any additional solutions to mitigate any risks.
